STORY QUILTS: This is art you can carry. Shapes are cut from donated fabrics and found objects. These pieces are hand sewn on to a background. The sharp staccato lines of the stitches add movement and emphasis to the fabric shapes. The soft faded patterns and textures of well-worn fabric lend well to natural forms, and are often connected to the figures in the pieces. Fabric art is a universal tradition that communicates (and travels) well.
