About

Who we are

Jane’s Art Center, the creative idea of founder and local resident Terry Jane England, is named after her mother, Jane Smith. A true spirit of New Smyrna Beach, Jane was a single parent; an artist; an environmentalist and an animal advocate. She died unexpectedly in 1979 at the age of 40. Honoring the life of Jane Smith, Jane's Art Center began with its name , and it stands now as the most prestigious clay center in Volusia County.

Our Vision

Being a Ceramics Arts Center, we at Jane’s believe that working with clay it’s a lifelong journey and we want to share this journey with our community. We aim to become a catalyst for the ceramics arts in Volusia county, and to make the city of New Smyrna Beach a home for the ceramic arts in the United States, and the world.

Our Mission

Integrating our studio, gallery and education department, we strive to provide unique opportunities for growing artists, students and experienced professionals to share their clay journey.

Our plan is to continue providing the highest standards in our classes, workshops, and gallery events, while keeping at our core the love that initially gave birth to Jane’s Art Center.
